Hi, that's me, Pitts 53SC - Sugar Charlie, for short. I'm a Pitts Special, model S2E (two seater, experimental) aerobatic airplane. I have a 360 cubic inch Lycoming under my cowl, cross over stacks, and a fully inverted fuel and oil system. That means that we can fly upside down till we run out of gas, or your feet turn cold. That's Arturo leaning against me in the photo. When we fly, he sits back enjoying the scenery, and when we do aerobatics, he hangs on trying not to puke. However, he gets all the glory while I do all the work. Oh well, such is life....

I really should not complain. Since he took me into his family, he has taken good, if somewhat obsessive, care of me...he's a bit neurotic you know. His wife Jan, and daughter Sky, seem to enjoy me. When they come out to a contest, they seem to appreciate what we can do...Sky loves the noise.

We really haven't been flying enough lately though. Ever since he got into this web thing, he spends way too much time on the cum-putt-er. So if any of you sympathize, e-mail him and tell him to get off the #+X%+-! net and go fly!
